CARB publishes finding of Disciplinary Tribunal

At a hearing before a Disciplinary Tribunal, a complaint was heard and an Order made as follows:

That Mr. Sean Clarke, a member of the Institute with an address at Clarke & Co., Chartered Accountants, 16 Priory Hall, Stillorgan, Co Dublin

1) By failing or neglecting to answer correspondence from the Secretary, namely letters dated 26th October 2006 and 1st December 2006; and

2) By failing to respond adequately to correspondence from the Secretary dated 2nd August 2006 and 16th August 2006;
did render himself liable to disciplinary action pursuant to Bye- Law 63.1(d) and did act in breach of his duty to co-operate pursuant to Bye-Law 62.1 and is therefore liable to disciplinary action pursuant to the Institute's Bye Laws, Chapter IX: "Discipline".

The Tribunal made an Order that Mr. Clarke be severely reprimanded, fined €10,000 and pay costs of €13,850 towards the costs of the Chartered Accountants Regulatory Board.
